Let's Welcome The New Calhoun County High School Principal

Mr. Samuel Mackey is a native of Fort Lauderdale, Florida. He received his undergraduate degree in Mathematics from Albany State University, and his Master of Arts in Educational Leadership from Barry University. Mr. Mackey has been an educator for the past 31 years. He has served as a mathematics teacher who also coached cross country, track and field, and wrestling. He has been an assistant principal for a middle school and high schools; and is now the principal of Calhoun County High School. Mr. Mackey’s philosophy of education is, “Be proud of who you are, but don’t forget to educate those in need of an education”. His mission is to ensure every student is provided with a rigorous education where everyone is devoted to academic excellence. He is a member of Oakie Hill Missionary Baptist Church in Albany, Georgia where he is actively involved. He is also the founder of the TOGETHER Organization, Inc., a nonprofit youth organization focused on leadership and academic excellence. Mr. Mackey and his wife, Shante Mackey, are the proud parents of two adult children, Samuel and Chantel.
