CCMS students, Powell and Landaverde-Cabanas Named REACH Georgia Scholarship Recipients
Two more Calhoun County Schools eighth grade students embarked on a life-changing journey as the district’s newest REACH Georgia Scholars – Corinthian Powell and Claudia Landaverde-Cabanas. Each student will receive a $2500 scholarship each year for a total of $10,000 completion of the REACH Georgia program and high school graduation. During the REACH signing ceremony, Corinthian and Claudia committed to satisfying the program requirements, graduating from high school, and enrolling and completing college.
The ceremony was held on November 30th at 10 am in the Calhoun County Schools Media Center. In attendance for this year’s ceremony were Mr. Ken Pope, Diverse Power Marketing and Public Relations Coordinator; Mrs. Pam Quimbley, Calhoun County School Federal Programs Director; Dr. Erika Green, Principal of Calhoun County Middle High School; Parents of both recipients, 2020 REACH recipients Dennis Johnson and Lonnie Grant; and invited friends of the recipients.
Corinthian is the son of Cornellious Powell and Tenesha Humphrey. Claudia is the daughter of Denis J. Landaverde and Claudia Cabanas.
