• Dr. Shereca Harvey

    Dr. Shereca R. Harvey, Ed.D.

    Dr. Shereca R. Harvey is the Superintendent of Schools for the Calhoun County School System in Georgia. She was appointed by the Calhoun County School Board of Education as Superintendent in December 2018.

    Dr. Harvey holds a Doctorate in Curriculum and Educational Leadership from Columbus State University. She has also earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from the University of Georgia, a Master of Public Health degree in Public Health Administration from the University of South Carolina, an Educational Leadership add-on from Columbus State University, and a Specialist degree in Educational Supervision and Administration from Albany State University. She is a 1998 graduate of Randolph Clay High School in Cuthbert, GA.

    Before arriving in Calhoun County, Dr. Harvey was Assistant Principal at Monroe High School in Albany, Georgia. She has worked as a science teacher, instructional coach, instructional leader, and K-12 science specialist at schools in Randolph, Lee, Terrell, and Sumter counties in Southwest Georgia. Prior to her appointment, she was the Curriculum Director for Calhoun County Schools.

    I am honored to work in partnership with the Board of Education, community partners, neighboring school districts, district and school leaders, dedicated teachers, support staff, students, and families to provide an exceptional educational experience for all learners.

    The Calhoun County Board of Education and I welcome you to become an active participant in our school system. Daily, we strive to meet the needs of our students, faculty, and staff to ensure that we are providing all learners the best possible environment to grow. Your support, encouragement, and involvement are vital to improving our schools and the overall community. In order to fulfill the promise of developing highly functioning, life-long learners who are employable, productive, and adaptive citizens capable of demonstrating problem-solving skills, we invite you to engage with us as we revise our mission, vision, and five-year strategic plan.
